In 2006, we joined the Organismal and Evolutionary Biology (OEB) Department at Harvard University. OEB is home to a diverse set of faculty and students with wide ranging research interests, providing an exciting and interactive academic environment for integrative research training in evolutionary biology. In addition, our laboratory is part of the Biological Laboratories, which opens additional opportunities and resources to further augment your academic experience.
For more information please peruse the following sites:
We have openings for undergraduate students to join the lab. If you are interested in evolutionary developmental biology and craniofacial genetics, please contact Arhat Abzhanov at to discuss your research interests.
We are always interested in candidate graduate students with an interest in studying roles of developmental mechanisms (modularity, integration, heterochrony, etc) of evolutionary concepts, such as adaptive morphogenesis, convergence, and evolutionary novelty. We primarily admit students through the OEB Department at Harvard and MCO program with the MCB department. More detailed information about the graduate program and the admissions process can be found at OEB and MCO.
If you are interested in a postdoctoral position, please contact me directly via email at to discuss research opportunities in the lab.
