Gonzalo Giribet and graduate student, Vanessa Knutson are investigating a mysterious purple organism recently found in the Pacific Ocean near California's Channel Islands by E/V Nautilus researchers. The Nautilus team sent samples to Professor Giribet at the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology, where he is working with Vanessa Knutson to identify the organism. The story is featured on NPR.
