Hopi Hoekstra and lab members, Heidi Fisher (former postdoc), Emily Jacobs-Palmer (former graduate student) and Jean-Marc Lassance's (research associate) new study in Nature Communcations, compares two closely related species, the deer mouse (peromyscus maniculatus) and the oldfield mouse (P. polionotus), and finds the promiscuous deer mouse has a gene that makes their sperm faster and more virile. You can read more about the study here.
