Congratulations to Min Ya (Kramer Lab) and Danny Haelewaters (Pfister Lab) recipients of the 2017 Les Mehrhoff Botanical Research Fund! The Fund, established by the New England Botanical Club in memory of renowned botanist, Dr. Leslie J. Mehrhoff supports botanical endeavors of the sort that Les championed: field studies, herbarium, library, and archival research. Ya and Haelewaters were awarded for thier independent projects: Min Ya, "Unveiling the Karyotypes of New England Utricularia Spcies", and Danny Haelewaters, "A survey of Russula species (Fungi, Basisiomycota, Agaricomycetes) at the Boston Harbor Islands National Park area, Massachusetts."
